Peugeot 2008 Door Chip & Minor Dent Repair

The problem
This Peugeot 2008 had suffered a small impact immediately beside the exterior door handle.
Although the visible paint chip was relatively small, there was also a slight depression in the metal surrounding the damaged area. Simply touching in the exposed paint would not have restored the original panel profile or produced the standard of finish required.
The vehicle was finished in a three-stage pearl colour, making accurate refinishing more involved than a conventional solid or standard metallic paint system.
THE REPAIR
Profile corrected and pearl finish rebuilt
The exterior door handle was removed first to provide unrestricted access to the damaged area and prevent paint edges forming around the handle.
The damaged paint was carefully sanded and feathered before the minor distortion in the panel was corrected. A small amount of UV-curing filler was used to refine the panel profile. Once cured and shaped, UV primer was applied and sanded to create a smooth, stable surface ready for paint.
The underlying colour and pearl layer were carefully controlled, with the colour blended into the surrounding door before clearcoat was applied to restore the correct gloss and protection.
Once the paint had cured, the door handle was refitted and the repaired area inspected from several angles.
THE RESULT
Shape and finish restored
The original chip and minor dent were removed and the shape of the door around the handle recess was restored.
Careful preparation using UV filler and UV primer provided a stable foundation underneath the new paint, while the three-stage pearl refinishing process allowed the repaired area to integrate cleanly with the surrounding finish.
The result is a professional repair without the need to replace the complete door.
