Kia Ceed Rear Quarter, Wheel Arch & Sill Repair
A dented and creased dogleg, wheel-arch area and damaged painted sill cover restored without replacing the complete quarter panel.

The problem
This Kia Ceed had sustained an impact to the lower rear quarter panel immediately behind the rear door. The impact had dented and creased the metal through the wheel-arch/dogleg area and had also damaged the painted sill cover.
Because the metal was distorted, this required considerably more preparation than simply repairing a surface scratch.
THE REPAIR
Shape restored before refinishing
The damaged metal was progressively pulled back towards its original profile using a controlled panel-pulling system.
Once the majority of the original shape had been restored, the area was carefully refined and prepared. Automotive primer was applied before the panel was blocked to produce a straight, ripple-free surface.
The metallic blue colour was then matched and blended into the surrounding paintwork before clearcoat was applied.
The damaged sill cover was repaired and refinished at the same time.
THE RESULT
Original profile retained
The lower quarter, wheel arch and sill area were restored without the need to replace the complete quarter panel.
Careful metalwork before the refinishing stage allowed the original shape and wheel-arch profile to be retained while keeping the use of filler to a minimum.
